OK, in a bass forum, full of Primus fans, I'm sure most of you know who Matt Stone and Trey Parker are. But in case some of you don't, they are the creators of "South Park" (which is, of course,t he show that Primus did the theme song for, hence the connection).

Well, these two are also ina band called D.V.D.A., which Matt Stone plays bass and writes most of the music for. Almost all of the music that you hear on "South Park", or any of their movies (including "Team America: World Police" and "South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut"). I was listening to some of their stuff today and realized how good it actually is, joke lyrics aside. Matt Stone is a really good composer, and, after listening to a version of "Hot Lava" that D.V.D.A. did with Perry Farrell, I gaine a lot more respect for him (even though I already have a lot of respect for both of them). He can do some really impressive bass playing.

Just wondering, is there anyone else who has listened to any of their stuff and thinks he's awesome like I do?

I haven't listened to any of their stuff, but you've definately interested me into checking them out.

I shall actually have to correct myself... Trey Parker does most of the writing. But they're still really good.

Here's some links. No really impressive bass stuff, but if I can find the version of "Hot Lava" I'm talking about on the internet, I'll post a link.

And this one has Journey as the video, so I had to post it:

That's pretty much all they have on Youtube. but like I said, pretty much all of the music you hear on South Park is them, even if they make one of the characters sing it.

Meh, I'm not into 'jokey music' but I have to admit there's some talent there.

I should also say that they did a cover of "Sgt. Baker" that I haven't been able to find. They've even opened for Primus, and even if he was a complete crap bassist, he would earn my respect for the simple fact that he played bass within the same vicinity as Les Claypool, which is something I could never do.
