im playin this jazz song and i came across a chord marked d7 i looked into it and i realized something wasnt right.
if i am correct there is no a in that chord the notes are (from low e to high e) x,d,f#,c,d,x.
can someone tell me what it is and explain it to me. thanx
its still a D7 chord - the A is implied from the rest of the notes
a lot of times the fifth (the A) is left out in jazz chords
Ye, as Cedarock said.

Usually (not always), you can omit the 5th and the repeated root note, like you can leave out that "3" (D) and it will still be a D7 chord coz it has a 1,3,7 with the 5 left out.

What's the big deal with Gibsons, anyway?
I've heard loads of Gibsons being played before
and they don't sound any more special than
any other guitar.
