Hmmk so the intro on every tab I checked was:

e|---------------------------------------------
B|---------------------------------------------
G|---------------------------------------------
D|----------------------------------------------
A|------4---5---4----2--------2-------------
E|-2-2---2---2----2----5-4-5----5-4-0-----

But I'm more comfortable playing it like that:

e|--------------------------------------------
B|--------------------------------------------
G|--------------------------------------------
D|--------------------------------------------
A|------4---5---4---2-0----0-2-0----------
E|-2-2----2---2---2------4---------4-0-----

So is it a fault and should I play it as written, or play it as I'm comfortable with?

Play it as written.

Especially for fans of Tool, APC, Avant-Garde, Ambient music, rock instrumentals, and fans of music in general. Will not disappoint.

You should always play it how you feel most comfortable. Just because a tab says something doesn't mean it's the 100% correct way to play it. The way you play it sounds the same as the tabs, and that's what matters. Just play how you feel comfortable.

well really it doesn't matter but you should learn to play it both ways

It doesnt really matter. I played it the 1st way for years, and it sounded just like it. Eventually I saw a video of Randy playing it, and realized he plays it the 2nd way. It doesnt sound that much different, but if you want to be authentic, play it the 2nd way...

I play it the way the tab says now because it looks cool, with a big hand strectch, but I used to play it your way because it is comfier at first, and therefore easier...Play it your way until you can play it the other way with no problems, but think about the sound...usually, if your comfier playing something wrong, it will sound better than playing it right

Play it so it sounds right and you don't mess up. If your learning songs solely for the purpose of increasing your skills then learn it both ways, but if you just want to play it for pleasure or a gig play it how you want.

yea thats me lol. Im retarded though becuase in my post I actually meant the opposite of what I said. The 1st way is correct... the 2nd is the way I first learned it (the easier way). Sorry about that.

Crazy Train Intro Question

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hmmk so the intro on every tab I checked was:

Code:
e|---------------------------------------------
B|---------------------------------------------
G|---------------------------------------------
D|----------------------------------------------
A|------4---5---4----2--------2-------------
E|-2-2---2---2----2----5-4-5----5-4-0-----

But I'm more comfortable playing it like that:

e|--------------------------------------------
B|--------------------------------------------
G|--------------------------------------------
D|--------------------------------------------
A|------4---5---4---2-0----0-2-0----------
E|-2-2----2---2---2------4---------4-0-----

So is it a fault and should I play it as written, or play it as I'm comfortable with?

Play it it the 2nd way it is way easier and you will get the same tone be cause for example on the LOW E string hit the it at the 5th fret and you get the pitch of the A string open so either way you get the same tone
#13
Well the notes are exactly the same, however, I find it easier the 1st way (even though you use your pinky) b/c of the muting that's involved in the song. If you play it the 1st way, you would just mute everything on the low E string. In the 2nd manner, you'd have to mute every open A string to get the sound to be exactly how it's heard on the recording. This is kinda of annoying to me to mute certain notes on the A string & not others, but I'm sure nobody is gonna notice the difference if you don't mute the open A's

You should probably just play whichever way is more comfortable, but I play it like this:

e|-----------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------|
G|-----------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------|
A|-----4---5---4---2-0-----2-0-------|
E|-2-2---2---2---2-----4-5-----4-0---|
[Witty quote coming soon]
