Long story short, I'm in a post-hardcore/metalcore band (think Thrice meets Killswitch Engage) and I play both rhythm guitar and bass - one or the other live, but I do both in the studio. I don't want to shell out tons of money for two amps, so could someone recommend a loud enough amp for bar gigs that will do both guitar & bass? I considered just using a bass amp for everything but a salesman at guitar center said it'd sound like **** because bass amps are made for low-impedance pickups, which guitars do not have.

Suggestions?

Sorry. I'll go start another thread over there, if a mod could just close this that'd be great. Sorry.

sounds like my band!!!
But mine is more Thrice meets Rise Against meets Hatebreed meets Mars Volta!!!

You'll need different amps for bass and guitar...
I'ld say go for a Mesa or Marshall for guitar...
I don't know much bout bass amps...
