My neighbor has a Vox 100VT that he's letting me use this week, mainly because I'm looking into buying one. The amp models are nice and I'm still getting used to it. My amp as of now is a Roland Cube 30 so it's way different than the Vox. I've been looking into getting the 100 watt XL series, because of the amp models on that one. I prefer more trebley tones, like the R-Fier setting on my cube. The ones on the Vox seem too bassy and low.

Is anyone familiar with the sound of the amp models on the Vox XL? I'm going to guitar center sometime this week, so any other ideas are greatly appreciated. I don't want to spend any more than $650.

Thanks a ton for any help.

If you like chimey sounds, try this on the VT100:

Model AC30TB
Gain about 6
Volume around 6 or 7
Treble at 6
Mid at 5
Bass at 8

^Hey thanks I'll try that. So any other amps that I could try out?

I'm looking for very high gain trebley sounds. Anyone?

That's alot of money to spend on a practice amp. A small tube combo with some good analog pedals will smoke it.
