...if you know what I mean.

Anyways, I recently bought a bass and I still haven't gotten a strap, so in order to fix this problem I took the strap from one of my Guitar Hero guitar controllers and put it on my bass.

Am I cool yet?

Hehehehe. "Strap-on."

My band conductor did the same thing to me. He handed me a strap, not knowing that it was a guitar hero strap. It must have been lying around or something. It didn't work at all, but if it works for you, go for it.

I don't think the strap will snap. However, mine wasn't strong enough to hold the bass, so it came off and gave my bass a nice new dent in the body.

watch the part where it connects cuz that will probably stretch the hole until it snaps. I snapped a cheap guitar strap that way and i'd imagine these aren't any better.

You can do it, but I don't think it's going to be the most comfortable thing. The weight of a bass would be distributed in a very small area, therefore feeling alot heavier.
When you can, buy a real strap.

My strap snapped once. It was a levy's strap too, and I loved it

I caught the bass though.

I sniggered at the thread title. Which I would imagine was your aim. What's so bad about just buying one? You'll regret it when your GH strap breaks and you've dented your bass.

EDIT: Lol, they censor 'sniggered' because of the racist word you get if you take some letters out. Tsk, now we can't even use words because they have letters for another word in them

The power to feel with others give.

I used a belt as a strap for a long while.

The word strap-on makes me chuckle.

how did you get that to work?

but id still say you should buy a normal strap cause the GH strap probably isnt that durable and might break during something important (like a gig??)

The Belt was kinda like one of those, (although not nearly as hip or flashy):

So I kinda jammed the button between the weave.
