im moving house soon and i have an out house and my mum said me(15) and my bro (12) can have it as our music room we have been playing for about 4 years and can cover loads of songs and have now started making our own and we were wondering what exavtly would we need to record? sorry for my noobishness.

Decent computer, external sound card, cubase or similar program, set of drum mics and stands. Should cover it. Mixing desk maybe.

wat he said, except replace decent computer with a mac, and it comes with garage band so you don't have to buy or download any other programs, and buy a little 1/4 inch to1/8th (or watever the hell the size of headphones are) jack, it's easyer that way if you don't buy a mixer, trust me
