I'm a rhythm guitarist and I'm looking for that Nickelback like sound. I know that they use EMG and I know what pickups that they use, but I don't know the right combination of which pick up should be in the neck or bridge position. I'm also sort of broke and only have one shot to do this right the first time. Can anyone help? What pick ups should I use and in what positions. please and thank you in advance.

alot of people use an 81 in the bridge and an 85 or 60 in the neck

alright. out of the 85 and the 60, which one would you recomend in the neck with an 81 at the bridge?

I haven't tried the 85, but the 60 is actually pretty good for cleans.

i find the 85's cleans are spectacular on a decent amp. it's hard to think how much the 60s can be...
