The more I play my Carvin V3 the more I'm thinking, "where have you been my whole life?". This amp does it all. Thick Mesa - crunchy Marshall - fat punchy cleans.
But enough about the amp, what I'm realizing now is that the effects (mostly Boss) are sucking tone away from it. (at least I think they are??) I know they're not the most ideal brand pedals, but they worked for me for years and now I want some thing nicer and preferably true bypass.
The way I found this out is that on the front of the amp, you can switch the FX loop on or off and after switching it off, my amp came back to life. So I switched all the effects out of the loop and into the front chain and it was night and day.
I would think that if my pedals were true bypass, running them through the loop would be a non event.
Maybe its the way I'm running my effects?
(I think this is accurate) SERIES FX SEND -TU2>BF-2>CE5>DD-3>BBE SS>RETURN
FRONT OF AMP - ROCKTRON HUSH>535Q>GUITAR
Let me know if you see something wrong.

What I have now on my board:
BOSS:
DD-3 Delay (use alot)
CE-5 Chorus 9 use sometimes)
BF-2 Flanger (hardly ever use)
TU-2 Tuner (use alot and keeping)
BBE:
Sonic Stomp (on always)
Rocktron:
Hush pedal (on 95% of time)
Dunlop:
535Q Wah (use when needed)

What I was thinking of getting:
Line 6 DL4 Delay
Voodoo Labs analog chorus
Maxon FL-9 Flanger

I'm confused on the Wah, though. I know the 535Q has its fans (and enemies), so what is a good Wah for rock/pop/cover stuff?
Thanks for reading and sorry about being longwinded.

keep your hush pedal.
line 6 has AWESOME delay stuff, but i'm almost positive it's not true bypass.
and the 535q is a nice pedal, not one i'd use, but it's pretty versatile.

Yeah, I'm keeping the hush, TU-2 and Sonic Stomp.
The DL-4 is true bypass, BTW http://line6.com/products/detail/31/

maybe you can try a ehx small clone for the chrous because i feel that boss chrous doesn't sound good and the small clone is true bypass too
