One I'm trying to learn right now is Tommy Emmanuel - Angelina but its a though one

Name some songs that sound good on guitar when you don't have drums or bass or anything to play alone with.

cannonball - damien rice.

Really anything by him.

Tool, anyone?
Alter Bridge, maybe?
A bit of John Mayer?
Some beethoven sounds delightful, as well.

Classical Music, in my opinion, has produced the greatest guitar music. Not only the pieces written for solo guitar, but the transcriptions from instruments such as the violin, cello, lute and even the piano. One that I would classify as "easy" would be Claude Debussy's "La fille aux cheveux de lin". It's a great piece, and the Guitar doesn't have nearly enough impressionist pieces to play.

scar tissue, desecration smile, anything by john frusciante, in his solo career that is, The white stripes have some good acoustic stuff too, and i cant remember the name of it but Izzy Stradlin has a few good acoustic songs. there is a massive thread on this in the acoustic guitar section. cheers
I LIKE Josh Klinghoffer

I agree about Lateralus but Schism is kind of boring as guitar by itself. The bass is pretty much what makes the song.

classical is fantastic but most people don't have much interest in it (or at least in my experience)

now that i think about it...the reason i like that so much is because my brother can play the piano part so we play it together...it's kind of a monotonous guitar part

Act One, Scene One - The Fall of Troy - It sounds great on just guitar, if you get all the way through.

Why Georgia - John Mayer - Eargasm on just acoustic guitar

Fail of Troy. Erak's riffs sound absolutely ANNOYING with just guitar. Believe me, I know. A friend of mine is pretty much obsessed with FoT, and sits there playing the god damn songs over and over. It's ****ing annoying.

I will agree with John Mayer, though. A lot of his stuff sounds fine with just guitar.

The Girl from Ipanema sounds pretty good if you can do the chords and melody at the same time.

How about not be so damn lazy? Guitar players have life so easy, the only people that have it any easier are pianists. Really, it's called "learning to make your own music". Try it.

Meh, that's why I picked Act One, Scene One. It's got that awesome mellow breakdown part near 3:30, that sends shivers down my spine.
