So at the moment I'm looking at neck position Humbuckers for my new LTD M-50, I know I'm putting a SD '59 in the bridge. So I want to get a nice Jimi Hendrix, SRV and (to a lesser extent (sp?)) Matt Bellamy for the neck. Right now I'm looking at the SD Pearly Gates and Phat Cat but I'm open to all suggestions.

I don't even know how to wire up coil-taps, but yeah the Pearly Gates is my first choice

to be able to coil tap do you only need a push pull pot (would it be volume or tone?), I checked the wiring diagrams on Seymour Duncan.com and it seemed easy enough.

also would I wire up the bridge pick-up normally and the neck pick-up to coil tap it

To be honest I prefer a series/parallel switch to a coil split if it's for an individual bucker...coil splits are the best option if you have a middle single though.

For Hendrix and SRV, you would want single coils, really, as they both use strats most of the time. For Matt Bellamy, what kind of tone would you be after, specify an album.
