last time i checked that's a song, not a riff lol

i don't know of a best riff, but i really like the second riff in master of puppets, i like teh whole opening of raining blood, and i relly like the interlude/lower tempo melody thing in angel of death, in fact i think thats the most metal riff ever

i'd guess you play guitar hero lol. yeah disturbed and pantera stuff is awesome when it comes to metal. raining blood's pretty metal, too. i'd say remedy by seether is one of my favorite metal riffs, along with coming undone by korn and unsung by helmet.
The riff just after the intro solo in 'As the Seasons Grey' by Testament, makes me headbang every time

i think the chorus riff in 'trial by fire' by testament is pretty cool...probably not the best metal riff ever though...maybe enter sandman

Disturbed is not metal. For best metal riff I would say the riff that starts at :46 in "Hammer Smashed Face" by Cannibal Corpse. Or the riff that starts at 1:38 in "Angel of Death" by Slayer.

This thread needs to be cleansed of non-metal! grrr!
Anyway I think it's probably the heavy riff in One if we're talking most metal. That fast machine gun riff. It definitely influenced metal very much and by that I mean all styles of metal too. It's just so godamn metal!
I've had Alzheimer's Disease for as long as I can remember.

The intro to Opeth's song Master's Apprentinces or the riff that starts at 6:35 in Opeth's song Blackwater Park.
Black Sabbath - Buried Alive. The beginning riff is as metal as it gets.

I’m not the man I used to be, I... I can’t go back to Arkham.

I... I should return to Arkham.

Among the churchyard’s mouldering stones I recognise a name – my own.
I have come home to Arkham.

The bit after the bassy intro of the Poison was the Cure by Megadeth, that riff is ****ing sweet, infact pretty much anything of Rust in Peace, the intro to tornado of souls, intro of hangar 18, intro of holy wars, and the intro to cowboys from hell too, mayn. so many good metal riffs.
