Hey people..

Im in a state of confusion at the moment.
Basically, im buying some pedals to replace my multi effects unit.

Im getting a nice chorus and an Ibanez TS9dx.

Thing is id like another distortion pedal, just to add some variety into my sound.

Im stuck between an MXR blue box, an EHX metal muff (full size) and a rocktron rampage.

Im sure you can tell im in search for a higher gain pedal than the TS9DX, itl be for my heavy heavy metal stuff.

Cheers for any help you can give me =]

metal muff... the extra eq is great for a different voicing (for alternate leads)... also the blue box, is kind of trippy effect (not really something you can count on to be consistant, it basically does whatever the hell it wants)

The thing is.. i know its a strange effect.
THats part of what draws me to it, i love the double downtune octave thingy
(sorry, not articulate tonight)
Would it let me down live?

I have the blue box, and its a bit quiet, and yeah its trippy. If you don't like the octave effect you an use it as a straight fuzz. But I think your best bet is a Metal Muff, since you want it for metal. the blue box is more for grunge or psychadelic. but hey if thats what you're going for, go for it.

i really dont thinks its heavy enough for what you want... like said its more of a fuzz than a distortion... and i dont know if you could easily duplicate the same nuances of your playing with it every time...
