As the thread title suggests, i'm looking for some pickups

actually, a little more info- specifically, i'm looking for some 4-conductor, preferably chrome covered humbuckers, but theres one final problem, i'm trying not to spend too much, most of the pickups i've seen are too expensive.

I've looked at guitarfetish, they ship internationally, but just how much extra would i end up paying for this? converted to £, the price for 2 GFS pickups there is £35-ish, plus shipping, are there any other costs?

also i'd like recommendations for pickups but i don't have much to spend. The guitar is a Squier custom tele which is HH, i play all kinds of rock mainly but i want something with a sort of sharp, edgy tone, not too high output, good for meduim gain type stuff. I just don't have a clue about pickups really, i don't know where the best places (UK) are to get them.

...A little too proud, to be honest.

^ agreed, or irongear if you want to save even more money.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

yeah, i mean a squier sounds like a perfect case for those irongear ones.

thanks guys, this is possibly the first time i've been able to get answers without any stupid replies

the irongears seem like what i'm looking for

i'm considering having a chrome covered neck pickup, the wrong way up so its got the adjustable polepieces lower down like on the neck pickup. if i coil split this so that it uses the output of the neck-most coil then, would it sound okay? i can imagine it sounding similar to a typical single coil tele in a way, because the neck pickups on regular teles are covered in a similar way to this, but it might also sound bad, so i have to ask first. also i'm probably going to have an exposed coil bridge pickup, this is similar to the setup of my ibanez jet king and i like it that way

i don't see why it wouldn't be ok. only downside is you can't adjust the poles of the single coil, i think.

that would be fine. i'm just concerned that it might sound odd, but i think its kinda irrational concerns, the tele neck pickup works fine with fully covered polepieces, so i don't think there'd be a reason why it wouldn't sound okay.
