Only been playing bout 6 months so still rubbish but really dont understand how you play tabs that say-

e----------------------------------- Just an example but hopefully you know
B---------------------------------- i mean. Features in Naive by Kooks and the
G---------6------6----------------- Maximo park song.
D---------4------6-----------------
A-----------------------------------
E------------------------------------

Dont get if you are meant to just be able to strike the two strings and i cant do it or if shud block the other strings or what. Any help is appreciated cheers

you should be able just to hit the two strings by themselves, but it may help if u block the other ones.

only pick two strings, that is something i didnt learn early either ntil like 2 months i played F#

i think you have the same problem, just play the two strings markedonthetab,not the others

Practice just trying to strum the two strings will help a lot.

Muting unused strings will also help a lot, especially if you are playing electric guitar with high gain.

Try using the base of your thumb on the strumming hand to mute the strings above the ones you are playing. Try to use an unused fretting finger to mute the strings below the ones you wish to play. That way you can theoretically strum all the strings, but only the two you wish to hear will ring.

It is not as hard as it sounds with a little practice.
