Just brainstorming this at the moment. Ill need people to PM me some backing tracks, i have a few ideas for some, but id like to hear the input of some people that would be doing this. Id need judges of course.

Improvising a solo of course, to a backing track of desired genre.

Im thinking we do blues, mellow/light rock, and hard rock (nickelbackish).

Its one-take, all the way through, improvisation, if you decide to cheat, then you are a complete douche even if you "win".

Would anyone be up for this? post some ideas, so we can make this happen?

I have a track up on my profile 'jam to a cool backing track' which was a one take solo. I really like the idea and if you have ideas for backing tracks I'd love to have a go with those too...

Obviously quite a lot of interest, see if I can get things moving along!

Here's one for those blues players out there:

The mellow rockers:

Last but by no means least, the hard rockers:

As hard as I could find anyway.

Hopefully LP Addict will come back soon and take control! There's some ideas anyhow.

A new thread would be good. Looks like we already have at least 7 or 8 participants! Just need some judges and things'll be ready to start...

I'd really appreciate if someone could PM me if this goes ahead, with a link to the new thread :-)

Cheers!

When you say one take, do you mean you have to record over the backing track and then that's it, you can't try again to see if you do it better?

Or do you mean that you have to play on just one track all the way through but you can have more then one attempt?
