People don't like Dave Mustaine because he created something that owned Metallica in just about every single aspect of thrash metal.

Aaron Lewis of Staind pretty much plays acoustic exclusively, though he does alternate.
Whitey Ford of Everlast.
Simon & Garfunkle

it's a pretty extensive list.

I hate to be the one to say it...Conor Oberst.

He doesn't play only acoustic. Just watch the talk show appearence where he destroys a Gretsch hollowbody.

Leo Kottke aka, god.

Nope. Andres Segovia = god of all that is guitar, or at least godfather. Leo is a close second however.
Matter of fact, if it weren't for Segovia, I highly doubt that anyone of us would be here right now reading this thread as the classical/acoustic guitar may not have taken hold like it did thanks to his influence. Everyone bow down before Master Segovia and give thanks!

even though it was stated that he does indeed play electric too, why would you hate to say it? Conor is a lyrical genius and a key leader in the present day anti-Bush movement. I love the guy.

does Yngwie Malmstein only play acoustic?

No, he rarely plays acoustic. Mostly his signature Fender Stratocaster electric.
Let's go back to five billion bpm and see how good i am.

Zach Montgomery. Indie dude. Sorta like Prince, now that I think about it. Never records with an electric, though.

Nope. He hardly ever plays acoustic. Except when he shows off his speed.

Tommy has played quite a lot of electric over time. See Sydney Olympics, plus many many records.

Edit: Great minds Tom.

I think John Butler only uses acoustics, and just runs it through distortion when he wants a distorted sound.
