My dad promised me some new gear if I could learn Promises, by Def Leppard. I mean I have only been playing for the upwards of 8 months, but I am a rythym guy, and I have to learn the lead part.

Any help?

new gear?? practice your ass off!

EDIT: well, if there's no time limit, and you've only been playing for eight months, you might want to take your time...learn a few parts at a time and practice them regularly, so when you finally learn it, you'll have nice gear and better experience

..just a suggestion

1. Use PowerTab or GuitarPro (PowerTab is free)
2. Slow the song down in whichever you decide to use
3. Just keep working on it

So the old devil is giving you new gears then...

I remember my first erection. I went to my dad and was like "Do I have Aids???". I seriously thought there was something wrong with me.

just keep practicing, if your struggling with the lead part split it up into sections and learn a section a day and youll pick it up in know time.

Your Dad is actually the coolest one I've ever heard of.

I'll thrash my way through a Metallica solo and my Mum will just shout at me:

"STFU noob"

When I played the entire "Ride the Lightning" solo for the first time, my mom called it noise.

I played the chords to Hotel California, and she got me a new acoustic :/
