Lately, for some unknown reason, I've been wondering. What's the difference between a $10 cable to a $50 one? Do they change the sound in anyway, or are they just better quality, less likely to break etc?

unless your getting paying gigs, I seriously don't think the improvement is even worth bothering over though...

From my experience it doesn't change that much. But my $50 cable has never failed me, but my cheaper ones have every now and then. Since my pickups suck I have a very weakhigh end in my sound, and using a better cable helps a little, or at least I think it does.
I don't need a sig....

The more expensive cables will provide a bit less noise, also though, most have a warranty, so if you break them you can just replace them such as Monsters. That is worth it in my opinion especially if you're gigging a lot.
