so i was messing with my amp and such and basicaly if you have it like

treble:0
mids:10
bass:0

add fairly heavy distortion and as much chorus as you can and voila

also, delay really enhances it

so there we have it:

rave on, UG!

a revelation!, harmonizing one octave up and wah and phaser work well with it

i suppose the moral of the story is throw your entire f/x board at it

Just mess with effects, I like to do that alot...

A lot of sustaining distortion, then delay and a wah can sound nice.

yes, synths could cost way more than that

There are nylon guitar synths out there. I know Carvin makes one and I think Ovation has one as well.

They connect into high end synth units. I bet it would be weird playing a guitar and getting the sound of a wind instrument.

you know what would do it better? using the external input on a synth, so it sends the signal through all the modules on the synth. that way you can adjust the ADSR, filters, resonance and stuff lol.
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

a wah with the pedal set to the heel position will do this.

or turn the tone knob all the way down, and add a lot of distortion.

^ i tried that before just experimenting with my tele, and it sounded like MUD!

volume swells with a volume pedal instead of volume on guitar with a wah pedal and fuzz pedal can sound a lot like a synth
#15
sounds crappy

Sounds cool...but what amp are you using?

probably a spyder, cause I just tried it and sounds nothing like a synthesizer to me.
