the current world record for the solution of this beast:

for thirty bucks, you too can struggle along side me!

I've spent the past few hours learning the algorithms, to no avail. this thing is heavy and fragile. the stickers are already coming off. why am I torturing myself? for the love of the cube, man..
#2
I've never succeed doing that. I had it with a passion as I suck at it.
#5
I know a guy who would always complete it but would have 1 square out of place, so he would just peel the sticker off and put it on the other one that's out of place lol.

I can do the normal 3*3 cube in 1 minute 30 seconds.

Anyone else got fast-ish times?

Edit: Makinlattes, is it based on the same algorithms as a standard cube? Obviously it has more but is it the same basis?
#10
Looks fun. No way i'd do it for fastest time, but would be a good way to waste time.

MakinLattes, you're one crazy girl.

I can't even do the normal one.

Thin necks make you play faster because guitars with thin necks sound thin and bad, and you play fast to distract people from the bad tone.

you can solve it using a revised layer method, but initially it's more like a 4x4x4.. the final corners use 3x3x3 algs.

I suggest you construct a space station the size of a moon, and destroy their home planet.

You should learn the algorithms and do one properly.

Great feeling to finish a Rubiks cube.

They take some learning but when you do its awesome.

U,R,U',R',U',F',U,F

You just solved a middle layer edge!

I can do the reg cube within a minute if that counts.. <.<

my biology teacher can do a normal 3x3 in less than a minute i'm pretty sure.

he has one of the bigger ones. don't know how fast he does that.

I don't know what algorithims are.

What math class do I learn about them in?

so MakinLattes, ever get a job at a caffe yet? Or burn that one down? Also, high-five for running out and yelling trogdor. HIGH FIVE

You don't have to learn about them to understand them.

Rubiks cube algorithms consist of patterns of moves.

Eg right clockwise, front anti-clockwise, top clokwise etc is an algorith.

Search for Rubiks cube solution online and you'll find some algorithms.

my time for a regular cube is 30-40 seconds on a good day. but this, gah, there are 60 quadrillion possible combinations.

I never understood how to do the cube (logically).

Anyone care to explain?

basically.. you take it apart and put it back together the right way.

Its all just a pattern.

You make a cross on the top (simple) and progress from there.

There is a set of moves for everything.

Just loook up rubiks cube solutions on google.

Edit: Makinlattes - Have we stopped pretending we can do them?

Oh it is. You can learn the algorithms but if you don't believe then you will never complete the cube.
#29
yeah, I've done that. But I was working with it like 30 minutes per day.. Took me 6 days, lmao.
I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed.
#30
curse you, fiend! I spent money on this instead of food! oh, the things I give to the cube.. it's like crack that helps with your spatial reasoning..

I see in my mind what I need to do, but these fat hands will not comply..
#31
haha, all i did was read the manual that came with my cube and just kept practicing the moves until i got under a minute >

There's no way to keep a record for that. The guy who did it in 1:44 or whatever could've had it easier when it was originally mixed up.

time: after several hours of studying and being re-scrambled, 8:23.. it would probably go faster if it wasn't brand new and sticky.
