I was on my way to buy some strings when i passed by a pawn shop that had this beautiful les paul looking guitar on display.
I was instantly attracted to it.

I went in and gave it a few strums and it felt orgasmic.
I never played it on an amp yet, nor have i heard lip stick pickups before.
But i'm sure it'll be amazing.
Plus i did my reasearch and i found out this thing was wired in series instead of parallel like usuall single coils. That would be interesting.

The price was 250 canadian.
I had 80 bucks in my wallet.
I got struck with gas.
Now i am sad.

I hope a month from now its still there.
Please god.

Anyone ever play a Danelectro before?

those things, even the reissues, seem to be pretty scarce. I kinda want one, they seem rly old-skool. But ive never found one.

Nope. But that is the guitar company Jimi Hendrix played with when he was young. I heard that they are also pretty good.

Do they allow you to put money down to hold it?

Well, I'm currently attracted to the Danelectro 59 DC, but the U2 has it's own vibe to it, true enough. Danelectro stuff in general is appealing to me, due to the price and quality, plus the uniqueness of it all....

I was gonna buy one of these for an alternative guitar:

But I figured that with the money I'd use to get it shipped from America, I can just get one of these instead:

:P

Seriously though, I'm determined to buy that Danelectro '59 reissue when I have the money.

I love the look of the 59 Dano guitar, it looks particularly retro to me, and much sexier than a lot of modern guitars. I'm hopefully getting one of these babies for an 18th Bday/Xmas present this year too:

Well, depends on how you consider "good". It's apparently a sound you can't get anywhere else: masonite and plywood hollowbody, lipstick tube pickups, metal nut, you don't see that anywhere else....

And hey, if it was good enough for Jimmy Page, it's good enough for me.

If jimi hendrix played one when he was young that would suggest that they were budget guitars seeing as how he was dirt poor.
I also am pretty sure his first electric guitar was a supro that came with an amp that was stolen later.
