Yes I'm out of the closet, I'm a fan of the Pokemon game (not the show or cards or anything else though). So anyway I just bought Firered out of curiosity, because I loved Red, Blue, and Yellow but I lost those games and never cared for new Pokemon, but I bought Firered for updated graphics and I can play it on my DS. So anyway my question is select any random game(s) and tell me the six pokemon who are battle ready

Here's mine
My two mainstays are
Gyrados
Dragonite

These ones are always switching out
Zapdos
Moltres
Articuno
Snorlax
Porygon
Aerodactl
Cloyster
Rhydon
Marowak
Fearow
and Charizard

I get bored if I have the same six.

you should be OK with those 5, especially if you evolve kadabra. but snorlax will make a good 6th if you max out his level and use some calcium (zinc in firered/leafgreen) to raise special def.

Dodrio
Machamp
Milotic
Muk
Forretress
Gengar

That's my current crack team of freakish-looking mutants.
I also have a Houndoom and a Magneton on back up duty.

^^Salamence:

Crunch
Fire Fang
Earthquake
Dragon Claw

thats a pretty good set, i would have kept dragon dance instead of crunch tho, gives a useful boost in drawn out battles

I hate how they've screwed up the special/physical attacks this generation. Now my killer zangoose's shadow ball is completely useless.

I don't know much at all about Diamond & Pearl, but I will say from a Ruby & Sapphire perspective that Zangoose is amazing.

As for my Ruby team, the only three I've got at a fighting standard - as in Level 100 - are Zangoose, Swellow and Swampert. But they certainly swept up nicely against the vicious 12 year olds I played at the Coventry venue of Pokémon tour a couple of weeks back.

i used swampert and swellow in double battles at the battle frontier in emerald. they are a really good combination. especially when swampert nows earthquake and surf, then you can just blanket the opposition with swampert and finish them off with some fast attacks from swellow

In Pokemon Ruby..
Typhlosion Lv.82
Lugia Lv.72
Ho-oh Lv.72
Ampharos Lv.65
Venusaur Lv.62
Mudkip Lv.100 (I gave this one rare candies...)

I used to have a Mightyena at Lv. 100 that was completely raised through battling. I never used a Rare Candy on it. Meganium was also pretty badass.
