My mates looking to start bass. Now I'm not really an expert about basses, so please help!

He's been looking at

So, is this any good for beginner?

Also, he wants a bass and amp for around £250, any recommendations?

well since noone's helping yet i'll start by saying that yes that is a good beginner's bass.

also in the way of amps....you'll have to tell me in dollars as i am ignorant american.

check out peavy for amps also. maybe if you can get enough money for an ashdown they're good too.
