Ok I am learning the song Bleeding Mascara, don't worry about the band haha well its by atreyu. Anyway i remember hearing that dan jacobs' part is supposed to be played with the sweep picking technique. So, I decided to learn/practice sweep picking for this song. My only problem is how can sweep picking be used for this part:

I thought sweep picking could like only be used for like the same notes going up and down but two notes are played on the e string so could someone tell me the proper way to pick this? thanks guys.

u have to hammer it on the e string. this is an easy version of sweeping. very good for beginners.

yeah i just have to pick up the speed now.

Well, don't rush it. Focus on playing it cleanly, and you will build up speed after a while. There's no use in playing it fast if it's sloppy and the notes aren't audible.

Absolutely,
Any and all techniques you begin to learn should be started off at a slow tempo. If you start off trying to learn a new technique at the speed of the song you are learning you will probably just pick up a bad habit.

Its so worth it to learn it slowly first.

You could always check out the first link in my sig. to understand the benefits of slowly learning a technique.
