ive been on the hunt for the cheapest tube stack i can find, and i've come to the conclusion that its not worth blowing all my money on a halfway decent amp, so ive decided that i need to get a job and find the nicest head and cab i can buy. what are some good heads in the 1000$ range, no more than 1300 because i still have to get a cab

is the marshall jcm2000 dual super lead really good?
it looks pretty solid to me, i have a feeling i'll get some mixed opinions on here

Yeah, in the high price range it's all about personal preference. What tone do you like? How much gain? Effects? Number of channels?

Didn't you say that you had a stuffed fox that you would occasionally fuck?

i'd use my pedal board on the clean channell, i'd probably use the amp distortion a lot too. i need a really loud solid clean channell. something that doesnt get all distorted when you turn it up. i play a lot of funk stuff, and i like to use a pretty heavy distortion, nothing too ridiculous nothing more than like the big muff

I love my 6505. Plus, all the cool kids play it.

Lol if there is one thing turning me off of 6505s it's that everyone and there gramma has one. (Or a mesa trip rec).

But that's probably not an issue to the thread starter and they are nice amps.

A Mesa F-30 combo would do the trick. Also, Peavey Classic 30/50.

If you really wanna blow a load and have a great clean/dirty duo, you can't go wrong with the Mesa Lonestar paired with a Mesa Stiletto. If you want out of this world clean tones, play a Two-Rock, Dr. Z or a Divided by 13 (if you can find one).
