If it's all original and in good condition it's worth about $10 000 easily. Depends what model and finish and other **** too. Every tiny thing changes the value of vintage guitars.

if you go to http://www.tdpri.com/forum/index.php and ask there you will get MUCH more help than UG. Everyone here is probably <20 and never touched a 60s tele. Myself included.

Everyone on that site is like 40+ and most of them have huge vintage Tele collections.

Hmm, I'd be happy paying 5k for it, because you've got a good deal and you aren't really cheating your friend. 10k would be a pretty average price for it. If you can afford it you should definitely get it.

If the finish is original but has a few dings, it wont cut the price in half, if it was refinished, maybe, no wait that wont even do it. vintage fenders, especially teles and strats, are getting harder to find and collectors are starting to pay top dollar even for the refined ones. If its the original finish, its good as gold.

I hope its all as good as it sounds!!!
