Is there any difference in a les paul classic plus and a les paul classic premium plus? I've seen both and I'm confused.

Do you mean Gibson? Because there is no LP Classic Premium Plus. Maybe you Mean LP standard Premium Plus? If you mean epiphone cant help ya ^^

Older Classics came with the standard 490/498 pickups in them, newer Classics have 496/500 pickups in them. I think the only notable difference with the premium plus was a "nicer" maple top and possibly some minor hardware differences. I know the Classic Antique uses '57 Classic pickups. Hmmm........I'll have to do some research.

yes there is, ther more common than the les paul classic pluses evidently

I'm probably generalising here, but a lot of times the only difference between the high-end Gibsons and less expensive ones is that the high-end ones just have nicer tops. This one looks awfully nice:
