Early power violence, there needs to be more talk of bands like this. They've been broken up for a long time but they're classic, everyone should check them out if you don't know them already.

That was weird Luke haha, I was listening to Ceremony and I saw the title for this thread and thought 'I should really check out Infest, I hear so much about them'. I'll give them a listen when i'm done listening to Ceremony haha.

Not enough Infest love! Thus, bumping a two year old thread seems appropriate. I thought I had this bands discography, but turns out I was lacking No Man's Slave(I've had it on vinyl for a while but my record player has been not functioning since I bought it due to home renovation). Anyways, I downloaded it, am currently listening to it, and it's fantastic. This band should be required listening for any fan of modern hardcore acts like Trash Talk, Ceremony, etc.

I would love that.

I've been meaning to get into this band for a while.

Edit: didn't realize this was from 2 years ago, but I would still appreciate it if someone linked me.

Absolute belter of a band. No Man's Slave is like, fucking savage, as is the 1988 EP.

Easily more aggressive and powerful than 90% of hardcore/metal in this day an age. No Man's Slave is a lesson in barbarism.

I seriously cannot comprehend how hardcore evolved from pure violence, such as this band, to "deep" pansy rock.

Hipsters liked the name "hardcore" and made music that had nothing to do with it, all media hype. Anyways Infest needs more worship.

Acid probably makes you feel less like a hedonistic raver piece of trash, too.

so the '88 EP is the next logical step after No Man's Slave?

And I heard Iron Lung were somewhat similar? Any hardcore buffs want to elaborate on this?

That's just Wildchild trying to reassure himself that his taste in music isn't terrible or one dimensional.

Well, we play faster and don't do gymnastics or pose when we play live. I think Hard Stance rips it up and Chain of Strength are cool, but Insted and Breakaway are pretty cheesy. It seems most hardcore bands are going for a polished sound and package, we are really not into that.

What I mean by the schism that exists in hardcore.
