erm....

it probably is. You can play pop punk on any guitar so I don't really see what the dilemma is...

The Sheraton will probably do it quite well. Not so sure that Windsor is a good choice unless you don't need cleans.

What are the chances that someone here is playing punk on an Epiphone Sheraton II thorugh a Peavey Windsor? Why don't you try that combo at a music store and make up your own mind?

you should spend more time online and say that to everyone that asks questions about what guitar and amp to buy

+ a lot to you, my friend

yeah, but most people that ask these questions, including me, dont have a good music store near, the nearest one that would carry both of these is around 80 miles away...

same here. The nearest music shop from me that even sells an acoustic is 150 miles away , but you just don't get the same kind of answer asking someone else than you do going in and finding out for yourself. And doubtless, most people who ask about new gear on these forums will go and test it at some point before buying.

i havent played that one, but from the looks and the price tag id say hell yea

^i only say that because im not discriminating against you for the "pop punk" thing

Yeah, you can put a nice crunchy tone through a semi-hollow like a Sheraton without worrying about feedback. Alot of indie bands use them and they sound great and I do think they'd translate well into pop/punk. I've had no experience of the Windsor though, sorry.

pretty sure the guy from silversun pickups uses one so that might say something, i dunno it could be an elitist or something i dont know about. but really, pop punk isnt that hard of a tone to achieve so the guitar would be fine but the windsor probably wouldnt be the best amp. itd probably have too much mid range for your needs

well if you try it and you like it, thats cool. are there any guitar stores anywhere near you where you can just play everything? i think your safe with ordering a sheraton for the guitar but you really should try out the amp cause thats where most of the tone comes from

a sheraton would be absolutely fine, the only thing you'd have to worry about is feedback, but its only really gonna be a problem if you want full on meltface distortion.
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

Well Sheratons are very sexy pieces of wood, I was planning on getting one until I saw my Casino in the window.

so what are good amps for pop punk/punk rock? so I can try them out whenever I go to a guitarcenter or whatever...

Are you joking? I hope you are, for serious flaming shall occur if you are not, and I do not wish a flaming due to another "marshall mg" or "line-6 spider" incident to happen to anyone.
