Just outright NO! what the hell kinda question is that?! I realise this will be a controversial statement, but there is one HUGE difference between the Foo Fighters and Nirvana, and that is, the Foo Fighters are good!

While there are similarities between the two, there are bigger Nirvana rip-offs than the Foo Fighters. The only reason you're comparing the two is because Grohl was in both.

Of course you see similarities you dolt, Grohl is probably the most musically influential member of both bands.

Anyways, as an enjoyer of both the Foo Fighters and Nirvana... I'll explain how they are nothing alike.

A. they sound nothing alike
B. Their popularity isn't even on the same scale.
C. They sound nothing alike
D. How the hell would you even think of a question like that?
E. Explain your self right now.

Theres no explanation except he is a retard

Foo Fighters=good

Nirvana=not as good

Thats my opinion, but if they were the same you'd think Foo Fighters fan base would be out of this world wouldn't it?

Dave Grohl is the man with that Firebird in the vid though. I fell in love with him on the spot.

Pat Smear also played in Nirvana whenever they needed a second guitar, and he's now in the Foo Fighters. But, I fail to see anything in common between Nirvana and the Foo Fighters, besides 2 of the members.

But Pat Smear doesn't even count because he had no say in the writing processes. So, he doesn't even count.

Cobain wrote over 90% of Nirvana's material. So no.

Also, Foo Fighters do NOT sound anything like Nirvana. I love both, and they're completely different.

They were underground hardcore and/or punk acts, most of whom he never even got to record with.

The Nirvana Drummer is the Foo Fighters singer/guitarist so there are bound to be some similarities.
#37
The only similarity I see between the two is that Dave Grohl is/was in both.

But even then, it's not like he plays/ed the same instruments in them.

So no, the Foo Fighters aren't trying to be the new Nirvana.

...no.

Kurt Cobain was Nirvana. If Dave were the most influential member they would have got a new guitarist and singer and carried on.

Also Foo Fighters sound nothing like Nirvana. Their attitudes are totally different and the music is too.

The Foo Fighter's aren't that bad.
(Actually I quite like them, better than Nirvana at any rate).
