So I have this B-52 AT-212 amp that I absolutely love. I personally love the high gain tone that it gives me (and that's what is important). It has lots of gain on tap for hard rock and metal, but in band situations I just find it lacking in comparison to the other guitarist in my band. I have a budget of around $100, and I need a great booster pedal that gives me enough gain for say Cannibal Corpse or Decapitated. I don't need a pedal with a million knobs to fiddle with, but something simple that gets the job done of giving me what I need. I've looked at the Zakk Wylde ZW-44, the Digitech Bad Monkey, the EHX Nano LPB-1 (would that be what I want?), the Maxon OD-9, and some of the Boss line. Keep in mind that I will be visiting a local music store to try these out after some suggestions from you fine folks. Please keep the suggestions to true overdrive pedals, because I don't need distortion on top of my amp. I've tried distortion, and I just don't like the results. I'd appreciate recommendations from personal experience ( because you all know how this forum gets with certain "stereotypes"), but any advice would be great.

Thanks much.

I think the Maxon or the Bad Monkey wil do fine.

Would there be a huge difference between the two pedals? The price sounds right for the Bad Monkey, and I've heard it holds it's own. But then again, there must be a reason for the price difference. Anyone care to explain?

If you can stretch it a bit more, I'd suggest the Maxon OD808 over the OD-9.

I use it on my 5150 and it really tightens it up, giving it an overall better tone. Love it to death.

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Thanks. One of these days when I find a good price (and I grow some balls), I'll go out and pick myself up a 5150. Someday not too distant hopefully. Anyways, I'll definitely look at both pedals, thanks man.

Haha, I've actually been liking the sound of the B-52 over my 5150 lately though, might be trading it in for a Black-face Dual Recto soon

The OD808 is cheaper than the OD9...

TS9 is cheapest of all, same price as an TS808 clone (BBE Green Screamer).
OD808 is the second cheapest.
TS808 comes next.
Then there's the OD9.
And lastly, the OD9 Pro.
