Jane's Addiction. anything by them, but i especially like the song Stop!. Anything Queens of the Stone Age, especialy the new album and Lullabies to Paralyze. If u like the Strokes, then u should like the Hives. Anything Strokes is good, and the hives are like an old-skool punk band. Mastodon is an amazing metal band, some say a harder version of Coheed, with more masculine vocals. The Sword is great. Old-skool metal/Hard rock. System of a Down is amazing. Toxicity and Steal this Album are great.

I think you might like some Ben Harper. Maybe The Postal Service (because you like DCFC) or Iron & Wine?

Maybe some John Butler Trio as well?

Definitely get Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain by Pavement. It's an amazing album. I think you'd like them. Melodic indie rock kind of stuff, a bit like Modest Mouse and The Strokes. And Stephen Malkmus is a very literate songwriter. Try it out if you haven't already.

Nevermore is good. Get the album the Psalm of Lydia if you are going to get Nevermore.

Also if you dont have pantera download all of it. Its amasing. If you like a7x get waking the fallen because it is their best.

Also check out CCR they have some good hippy jams. It is really upbeat stuff.

I will keep thinking.

Psalm of Lydia isn't an album, it's a song. For Nevermore get Dreaming Neon Black and The Politics of Ectasy.

Yeah, but if you're going to download music why would you only get stuff you know you like, You have to listen to new stuff as well.

You might find a new favorite band from a genre you never used to listen to

Yeah, but in this case he was asking for artit specifically like these bands. If he'd want to listen to a new genre, he would have asked for bands from genres he don't listen to.

i know but he was asking for stuff that was similar to the bands he listed...if it was just a general "list some good albums for me to download" i would've listed a bunch of metal but the TS didn't list any metal other than 'tallica and megadeth...i dunno

btw...Ts if you don't have Rust In Peace by Megadeth...get it...it's probably my favorite album ever

I suppose, but if he alreday likes the Artists he listed why does he need to know what CD's to download .

However I will recomend you, This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About by Modest Mouse,

I still think the TS should download the COB though.

Yeah, slooooooow internets since im' currently downloading 8 albums at around 80kb/s each. And, as guessed, I'm not really a MeloDeath, or any of type o death metal person for taht matter. I'm not sure where opeth falls. But that **** is addicting. And to teh porn comment: it's so easy to find free stuff + girlfriend. Thanks for everything people. But does the whole Godspeed whatever groupo have lyrics? Because i really have tried, btu can't get into things like Battles, LCD Soundsystem (good on occassion), and The Field. Too ambient for my tastes.

opeth really doesn't fall into any subgenre (though they do have alot of elements of death metal) they're just metal...i love how they go off into acoustic "breakdowns" (can't think of what else to call them) it's just amazing
