I'm going to the White Stripes concert in San Diego at the Coors Amp there. The show starts at 7:30 pm and doors open at 6:30. Tickets are general admission so I assume there is no seating just standing room only at the front. How early do you think I should get there (within reason) to be as close to the stage as possible. My brother doesn't get out of school until 4:15 and it will take us about an hour to get there. I'm thinking 5:30 should be fine but I'm still worried about getting stuck in the back.

Thanks

well is it a major venue? if so and you think it will be a big show
then get there at 6:30 so you can get good spots

Show up after the concert. White Stripes suck.

That is true, but at a White Stripes show, where there is no moshing, everyone would think your a douche for pushing your way up. With moshing, it goes unnoticed.

Yeah, this is only my second concert so I'm still new to all this stuff. We will most likely leave as soon as he gets out of school, so we'll be there about 2 hours early. The White Stripes are a huge band but I don't they'll attract the kind of 13 year old girls who show up 6 hours early like Fall Out Boy would. It's kind of a big concert but not too big of a venue. The only people playing are White Stripes with Cold War Kids opening. Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the help.

Pfft, Slayer and Marilyn Manson!? Who cares.

Queens of the Stone Age aren't my cup of tea either.

I'm seeing Animal Collective this month. Hell. Yeah.

well, just leave as early as possible. it doesnt seem like you can get there too much earlier than when the doors open anyway.

if its like most of the shows ive been to, you can usually work your way closer to the front.

Pfft, what could be funner than a Slayer mosh pit?

And I happen to enjoy Marilyn Manson's Holy Wood.

Same, but any concert is better than just sitting at home doing nothing.

I usually show up an hour after the doors open if I want to see the opening bands.

Earlier if I want to be up front.

Later if I don't care about the openers.
#21
Meh, I always watch the opening bands. They might be good; they might not; but either way, I might as well watch what I payed for.
