Hey,
I'm looking for a new guitar, most probably either Ibanez or ESP. Probably around $2,000AUD give or take.
I can't make any decisions because theres so much running through my head; Esp, Ibanez; Alder, Mahogany; EMG, Duncan. I just cant decide anything!
Any suggestions??

Well there are Ibanez S620EXQM which are great for the price but for alittle extra you can get the MH-400 (Great guitar)

Personally i would probably take the LTD over the Ibanez. I know thats a little hypocritical (For those who care) because in my other thread i said i may buy the S620EXQM over the MH-400 but i still stick by my answer.

ibanez, mahogany, duncan, duh.

P.S. The MTM2 is absolute ****, try an rg series for the same guitar but much cheaper.

To be honest, ESP are not as good quality as some people may think, they just happen to be made of decent woods and good pickups most of the time. Ibanez has much nicer feeling guitars in the RG Fixed series with 90% of those being made of mahogany with a thru-neck, you'll just have to replace the pickups to something nice, but the outcome is a higher end guitar than ESP....some may dispute this, only thing I see about ESP is it beeing cheaper than Ibanez and usually has better pickups installed on the high end guitars, but thats all fixable and ESP usually have a cooler headstock, but hey at least Ibanez would have greater quality, there relatively close, just Ibanez is a little bit better in my opinion......you could just get a custom guitar made just how you want but those are always way more expensive than they are worth, but if you have 2K to work with then you probally could go that route ,

Ibanez's I'd look at::

http://www.ibanez.com/eg/guitar.aspx?m=RGT42FX

http://www.ibanez.com/eg/guitar.aspx?m=RGT42FXQM

http://www.ibanez.com/eg/guitar.aspx?m=RGT320Q

http://www.ibanez.com/eg/guitar.aspx?m=RGT42DX

http://www.ibanez.com/eg/guitar.aspx?m=S620EXQM

This one only if you shred
http://www.ibanez.com/eg/guitar.aspx?m=RGT6EXFX

just invest in some new pickups and you'll have one heck of a nice guitar, most of the choices are based on how you like them to feel and your preferred playing style but I see it as a better option, even if it ends up a tad over ESP in the Price, but I see you pay for what you get

yeah not a fan of the ECs? (ESP Les pauls)

Depends what road you wanna go down, compare people who endorse both companies.

ESP: Metallica, Alexi Laiho, Lamb of God etc.

Ibanez: Steve Vai, Satch, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman etc.
Funny words.
