yeah my band wants to start recording some tracks just in our practise room. my mates got a mac with garage band, can we use that to get some recordings?

Well how many mics do you have? If you have enough to record everyone at once it would sound better, but if you don't have enough mics you'd have to record separately to get decent quality.

record everything separately if you want to tweak it all to perfection and mix it. If you want a more live, raw sound then record it all at once
