I've been playing guitar right handed for about a year and a half, and thanks to the inspiration of Batio I decided to pick up left handed also. I can fret alot of stuff like crazy train intro and riff's, but my picking hand is lacking really far behind my fretting hand. Any suggestions on how to get my picking to a somewhat decent speed?

well, I'm not sure what to do/what to practice. When I first learned how to play normally I only did down picks and it took me a month of practice to get into a alternate picking habit after I realized I needed it. Is there a recommended way to start picking?

Just keep playing at it. I think once you get your motor skills working properly in the opposite hands then the other stuff should progress along a bit quicker.

I can play some easy **** lefthanded, upside down but it's not something I'd work at. I don't see the point really.
