Hey guys,
So I've been playing guitar for like 3 years now. And never had any trouble. In the past couple of weeks my fret hand's (left hand) middle and ring finger knuckles have been hurting.
Is this arthritis??
Is this due to poor techniquee
Or, are my knuckles having growing pains, haha.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks guys,
laters

actually, rubbing icy hot on it might actually help, if its muscle trouble

has the pain recently started or has it been there before?

might be just bad habits that created an injury which has grown now, and it hurts more

Is it possible you injured it in a manner unrelated to guitar? Just seems odd that you suddenly have pain after 3 years.

Rub, any sort of muscle pain reliever on it to get rid of the pain.

But mabye your joints have been under alot of pressure lately?

Yeah, what he said. Maybe just take a break from guitar for a day or two and see if it gets better, and if it doesn't, see a doctor or something.
I thought I was a big man until the doctor told me I really do have a third leg

yeah
i was skating one day and bailed and i think i broke my wrists, or sprained em really bad, but i never went to the doctor. And sometimes I can feel how weak/beat up my wrists are. so idk if that affects the fingers, haha.
Well, thanks a LOT guys for the suggestions, I'll try and see what's up.
Thanks

I actually had the same exact problem about two months ago... just out of the blue, my fretting hand started with some stiffness and my fingers popped at the joint constantly, and it just hurt a lot. Take it easy on the playing for a while and work on some finger flexibility. Hope they stop hurtin' ya soon. Rock on.
