I have searched among some music past months in order to find any similiar kind of music as to those soothing pink floyd songs and I especially likes the voice of David Gilmour; much soul in his voice(not soul as soul music(!)), but I can not seem to find that Any other kinds that i have found seems always to be a little....i dont know...too much(?) like too much drums, too much guitar,

I want to know if there anyone here who knows; give some tips or suggestions on artists/bands that is somewhat similiar to pink floyds soothing music?

Adelbert Von Deyen. Seek him out, and if you can find 'Eclipse', musically it's a very Pink Floyd influenced album.

That's when you know you found somebody special. When you can just shut the f*ck up for a minute, and comfortably share silence.

I checked him out to see what i could find on the net, and this one page i see the tracks and 5 out of the 10 tracks on the "Eclipse" seems to be somewhat the same song only extended version. I first think of songs by Pink Floyd like Shine on you crazy diamond with several parts, but Adelbert has 5 out 10 songs which is the same song in different breaks or somewhat? But it is not easy to get free sample to listen too...any suggestions?

btw, what about "Sunset", by adelbert?

Dave Gilmour is essentially who this thread is about, who released an album 2 years ago.

yes, he did, and he is also releasing dvd on an island in a few days actually, so if he isnt modern then who is? But i guess not everyone knows of one of the most famous guitarist of all time, including the moderators here.
BTW, psychodelic music? arent they more like progressive classic rock? maybe psychodelic in the 60s. . .

Anyway, I tried this Adelbert, but it wasnt exactly what i was looking for. Im not so fond of synthesizer. Some of it sounded like some newage whale songs for yoga ppl or something hehe

I am really into clean sounds, with few simple instruments. Mostly like guitar, piano, violin. And when there is drums, i dont mind powerful music, but I havent heard any band like, pink floyd/david gilmour, where im never tired of listening to. i can listen forever and ever, and always can come back to, whenever(!) - THAT's the kind of music im looking for. Anyone else felt that?
