If I put on some, let's say, .11 or .12 strings on my guitar, I would still be able to tune it to standard right? The string tension wouldn't be too much on the guitar in standard tuning?

It shouldn't be too much for the guitar, but it might be for your fingers. I would still check and make sure the neck is still straight a while after restringing.Just look down the neck from the headstock at a slight angle. If it's warped, you may need to adjust the truss rod.
