Which era of Classic Rock do you like the best (your overall favorite, if you're a technical type) 60s, 70s, or 80s?

I prefer the 60s with music overall, they really had everything. Blues and Jazz in the very beginning, the British Blues/British Invasion in the mid sixties and the folk revival. And then they had the hippie movement/psychadelic movement in the late 60s. Not to mention most bands in the 70s had their start in the 60s.

'80s for established rock bands using synths in progressive and appropriate fashions (although I still much prefer early 90s-present electronica overall).

60's man - It was a revolutionary decade. No decade has managed to surpass the 60's musically. Sure there has been greats in each decade, but the sixties had it all. Protest folk, garage rock, the British invasion bands, music, early punk, soul, reggae.

60's for it's influence, but I voted 70's for the sheer awesome-ness.

NOT the 80's... MTV killed rock and roll.
Hey, I'm Mike.

Hendrix and Velvet Underground is reason anough for me to vote 60s. Then again, there's Dylan, Pink Floyd (PATGOD) and The Doors who were all at their peak in the 60s IMO.

70s. Probably the best musical decade ever.

Careful about your choice of words. You might just unintentionally be asking to be destroyed.

I know theres been loads of amazing bands in every decade, but in the sixties rock n roll really branched off artistically, and since then the innovations have been getting smaller and smaller as each decade passes.

When I say it surpasses every other decade I mean the 60's as a whole , cos' of course there has been loads of bands that have bettered or equaled a lot of the great 60's bands.

Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time
For y'all have knocked her up.
I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe
I was not offended
For I knew I had to rise above it all
Or drown in my own shit.

60's, for the psychedelic rock, the birth of Zeppelin and Tommy, among other factors.

60s most definately. Some people at school don't call me 60s man for nothing!!

I do love other eras too, but if I had to chose one era it would be 60s. They made some fantastic music in the 60s.

70s. I could go on and list a bunch of reasons why I chose that, but I won't
How to achieve Frank Zappa's guitar tone:

Step 1: Buy a Gibson SG
Step 2: Insert Green Ringer, EQ, 3 dead squirrels and a microwave into said SG
Step 3: Plug in and freak the **** out.

For the 60s, you only need one: The Beatles
