an effects loop is a place to put effects between the pre amp and power amp.

Some people think effects such as reverb, delay, and most modulation effects sound better in the loop. I personally think EQ pedals are more effective there too.

What effects on your pod do you use?

for example, wah, overdrive and distortion generally sound better infront of the amp. If you are mostly going to use your reverbs & delays, put it in the loop.
