But he was probably most famous for his work with Weather Report. Also worked with miles in the late 60s early 70s, I do believe.

Yeah, considered by Jaco as a father figure, and a teacher to many including Scott Henderson.

A great player, Zawinul Syndicate, Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Weather Report, all of it. RIP.
He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt.
He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice.

Ah, he passed today? I don't know how I missed that.

He was amazing, and really should get some recognition in the media for his passing, I think.
