I'm looking into a new guitar, and I really need a bigger sized guitar, considering im a big dude. I like my current Ibanez's, but they just feel too small.

I love the Ibanez semi-hollows, but they wont do hard rock/metal all that well.

What can you guys recommend? Something around $600 or so, give or take a hundred or so.
#2
A Jackson maybe? They seem alittle bigger than most guitars.

I mean like the body itself. I have no problem with the necks, but a lot of bodies themselves seem really narrow and/or short to me.

I've seen my teacher's Les Paul, looks pretty small too. I'm looking for the shape of a 335 type guitar, but solid body.

^^ +1 PRS guitars have pretty thick necks too

gibson faded flying-v? good bang-for-your-buck factor there too.

A Faded Flying V may look a little bigger if you can find a used one. Don't know how fat the neck is though. They don't really make anything I know of in a big bodied solid body.
#11
how big are you anyways?

#12
I dunno, like 6 foot 225, maybe a little bit more. It's more of a feel issue. i'm im sitting down or whatever and I start playing my S, it feels tiny.

I was thinking about maybe an Explorer or something.
#14
Yea, since you mentioned that you only really seem to notice when ur sitting (and since you probably practice/play sitting alot) I might warn you that the V could be a little bit awkward to use while sitting down. But on the other hand, I have met people who claim they can play the V sitting down completely comfortably. Oh, and for what it's worth, I'm 6 foot 3 and I play an LP and it feels almost perfect size-wise on me. But I s'pose it's all subjective...

I'd like to see you play the Original S design. Probably half the size of the current ones.

Anyways Ibanez Artists are pretty thick guitars. You might like it.
#17
hmm, i've never encountered a solid body guitar which could match a 335 in size.

Yeah, look at some hot-rodded Gretsches. I think Gibson used to make a solidbody guitar in the shape of a hollowbody. Can't remember the model, but it's discontinued.

It looked AMAZING, and it was an awesome sized guitar for me. Are there any guitars like that, but solid body or good for some hi-gain stuff?
