Ok, I play an Epiphone G-400 Iommi Signature, and I've been thinking about modding it for a while now. I figure the best thing I can do is add a tremolo system to the guitar, and I've been looking at the Stetsbar. To help prevent any risks, of it being thrown out of tune, I am going to buy some Sperzel Locking Tuners.

But, I have two concerns:

1. The neck is a set neck rather than bolt-on, and I'm worried about whether the neck will hold due to all of the tremolo bends/dives/squeals.

2. Will the Sperzel Locking tuners act as a substitute for the Locknuts usually seen on a tremolo-fitted guitar?

Thanks

1- set necks are much, much stronger than bolt-on's.

2- not really, but it will help keep your guitar from going out of tune. kahler sells some "behind-the-nut" string locks which essentially do the same thing as locking-nuts but dont require any nut-slot modification

Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can't pick up the string locks at Guitar Center or something. I wasn't able to find much on Kahler's Parts site :S
