Why's it spelt Hadouken when Ryu clearly says Huryuken?

What's up with that...

No, he definitly says Hadouken, and it's spelled "Hadouken" because it means "Wave-motion fist" in Japanese.

And if you're talking Street Fighter 2, the voices on that are all sorts of messed up so stuff gets inaudible. It's an old game, whatever.

He says Huryuken when he does an uppercut.

So when he does the fireball (I can't think of what else to call it the down, down forward punch thing) he says horyuken to your ears?

Weird. I get hadouken.

I actually had to check Youtube gameplay videos for Street Fighter 2.

He does say Hadouken.

The sound for the hurrican kick doesn't match what the move is called "Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku" which means tornado whirlwind foot (or leg)......

How nerdy does that make me sound!

^ Me too, couldn't find any.

Did you play the SNES version? MD version is definitely hadouken. Maybe the sound was a tad messed in the SNES one because he says Hadouken in Alpha 3 o the GBA also.

I remember it being hadouken in the arcade too...

What does Ken say when he does the fireball thingy?

A much more defined, faster and higher pitched hadouken. I think it's basically Ryu's voice sped up.

The same:

Hadouken

Ryu and Ken were both taught the same style by Master Gouken, but both characters adapted their style slightly to more reflect their personality....

And to stop Ken from just being an alternate costume for Ryu!

Tatsumaki Sempuu Kyaku if im not mistaken, thats how its spelt if used as a special (name flashes on the screen), but the pronunciation in game sounds more like a line out of a Michael Jackson song

edit: blasted cheeky devil beat me to it

Nah, sorry but it means tornado hurricane foot (or leg).....

Hence why it's commonly called the hurricane kick

I prefer Ken in the Alpha series, his moves link together much more fluently, and he's a more balanced character than Ryu

I always played Ken because I have the same name.

Also, in a playstation game, he fires his Hadouken at a downward angle while he's in the air, I prefered that over Ryu's horizontal trajectory.

I remember Guile always did that awesome upside-down kick. I always liked that, even though he mostly sucked.

Guile.... a man so patriotic he has the American flag tattooed on BOTH arms!

He was the best player in Street Fighter 2.... He was both strong and fast......

He seemed really out of balance compared to the other players!
