I'm looking at Ibanez's. I play metal. But there's so many and I don't even know where to start.

My budget is around £600-800

For amp, I'm getting a Peavey 6505 combo.

What amp do you have?

The ESP LTD EC-1000 - with the EMGs - is pretty decent.

I'm a big fan of the Minarik Inferno; it is very resonant and has a very even frequency response. You could throw some Bareknuckles into it with the extra money.

Do you want the piezo?

The pickups are pretty *meh*.

Oh ok then.

Which is better?

An Ibanez (good quality £700 one) or a Dean Razorback Two Tone?
#13
Ibanez definitely.

Ok thanks..

There's so many Ibanez's to pick from. I might look at RG's, any in particular?

well the razorback (at least judging by the ml i tried) is a POS for the money, so the ibanez.

that being said, though, what exact tone do you want? do you have any preference for woods? do you want a trem? what type of necks do you like? etc., etc.

help us to help you...

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

It doesn't really bother me to be honest about the type of neck, wood and if it has a trem, as long as it's good (lol?).

Ibanez S470 with pickup change
brilliant trem, just lacks the pickups

And quality as well...

The most obvious option is RG1570 + a change of pickup

If you don't mind going used then RG550/RG570 + a change of pickup

^ i dunno... i mean at the end of the day if it sounds good, that's what matters, right?

i'd probably consider an rga 121. it's pretty nice.

i suggest either:

RGA321F if you want a hardtail (you'll have to save a bit more)

RG2550E if you want a trem.
#33
like the guy sed above me RG2550E are good but some people dont like floating trems. prestige models are the best =]]
Equips:

Ibanez RG2550E
Jackson DKMG
ESP LTD EC 200 QM
Peavey ValveKing Head & Slant Cabinet
Peavey 5150
Ashdown Fallen Angel 4x12 Cab
Ibanez Tubescreamer TS9

care to elaborate on that?

A normal S is no way near the quality of a prestige RG

isn't the rga321 f pretty much exactly the same as the 121, except with a fancier top and nicer pickups?

What do you look at when you say that?

To be honest, the difference in quality between Cort Sabers and Fujigen RGs isn't something a normal person would immediately see. Maybe in the long run (very long run) it'll start to obviously manifest, but otherwise the difference is in the details that most people wouldn't even notice.
