So there is this guy selling his dads old tube bass amp head, for 120USD.

I think its a vintage b-100 btw.

If you want information on tubes I can give it you and as with buying any vintage tube amp, you should make sure it has recently (within the last year) been serviced and the tubes have been replaced within the same time frame.

Nothing sucks harder than a old valve amp with microphonic dying valves.

Also you'll need a cab to drive the amp through.

ya but for 120USD you could buy it and then have the tubes replaced and still get a pretty good deal. but ya it will take a cabinet with it and it'll have to be a pretty decent one to take 100watts all tube.

Let's not forget, 100W on bass isn't as loud as 100W guitar. However, unless you're broke, why not get it? I would! If it sucks, it'll be a fun project (like the old record player receiver I turned into a bass amp - a 25W solid state 2x110 stack!). If it's good, you'll be laughing.

I was looking at a used Warwick Vampyre LTD 5'er for about $200. I went home to grab my wallet and came back and some jerk with an epic beard got it already..

100w bass isn't as loud as 100w guitar but 100w all tube anything is pretty loud.
