Ok, I own a Crate GX-120 combo. I was wondering if i could buy a 4x12 cabnet and use it as some what of a head, With the external speaker plug. It says it has to be 8 ohms min. so does that mean i could use 4 ohms? I will eventully buy a real head, Im looking at Orange, Krank, and ENGL. but i dont have the cash right now. Thanks for the help.

Adding a cab to the Crate will work.
Just match up the ohm's and make sure the cab can handle at least 120 watts.

^ a head can have any amount of power.. there's a half watt head, or maybe it's one watt, but anyway. if your getting a cabinet just stick to an 8ohm for reassurance that nothing will go wrong

It says eight ohms minimum... so why would you ask about less than eight ohms?!

Just get yourself a cab, rated at eight ohms exactly and at the least, 130-ish watts. The wattage of the cab can't go under the wattage of the head, or you'll blow all your speakers, and then, quite possibly, your head. Not fun.

I belive ohms run backwords, but maybe im wrong. I think its the lower the number the more power. and yes i know the whole wattage deal. Im not retarded, But thanks for helping.

still open.
