anyone else think this is wrong?
the obvious points i can make out are:
- it's gonna be expensive
- no information on how to restring (i guess it'll have to be strung specially)
- most people will probably stick to locking tuners or double locking trems

whats your view on it?

Once it's more common and comes down in price I wouldn't mind having one. It would make a lot of things more convenient in my opinion. But I absolutely HATE tuning with a PASSION. It just annoys me. You've gotta admit, it does sound nice for guitarists who constantly have gigs and different tunings per song. It saves time.

I agree on the restringing thing though. I assume you do it as normal?

...it gets strung normally, it looks to me like the tuners just turn by an internal motor or sumthing, but yea the system ITSELF costs 899.99

I'm iffy about it. Call me crazy but I like using my ear better, and the feeling of putting your guitar in tune yourself and strumming that first chord is a good one .

id rather have about 5 Ibanezs in different tunings with locking trems
i for one dont think technology and guitars should mix
i mean digital amps are aweful next to a full tube amp
do we really need this or are we becoming lazy guitarists?

Id buy one to tune up my Floyd originally, it'd be nice to set it to tune, then come back 5 minutes latter and have a balanced floyd...

I agree that technology and guitars don't mix that well. But what about electric guitars? That's a step in technology. I think that things are just overpriced, and some things are better left alone. I think that the Powertune system won't last if it doesn't go down in price. For that price, of the system alone, I would rather tune manually.

Mhmm. Indeed. Also, like all new things, I guarantee it still has bugs.

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.
